Huawei today released Y9 Prime 2019 with a Full View Display, AI enabled Triple rear camera and a pop-up selfie camera in India at a very competitive price of ₹15,990. This release from Huawei made the mid-range market even more competitive with the likes of Realme X, Vivo Z1 Pro and Oppo K3 already doing the rounds. It’s a great time for buyers.
Y9 Prime is powered by Huawei’s own Octa core Kirin 710 SoC and has 4GB RAM / 128GB ROM with an option to expand up to 512GB using a micro SD card. The smartphone has GPU Turbo 3.0 implementation for smooth gaming experience.
Huawei Y9 Prime has a 6.59-inch Full HD IPS “Full View Display”. The screen-to-body ratio is a very respectable 91% and has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.
As Y9 Prime has a full view display it has a pop-up selfie as front camera. The pop-up selfie camera is a 16MP one has an aperture of f/2.0. Huawei is claiming that it takes the front camera to pop-up in 1-second when you take selfies and retracts when you are done. The pop-camera retracts automatically on falling.
The rear camera is a AI enabled triple camera implementation. The setup includes a 16MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 8MP sensor with ultrawide capability and a 2MP f/2.4 lens for depth sensing. Both the front and rear camera supports video recording up to 1080p at 30fps.
The fingerprint camera is on the back of smartphone.
On the battery front, Huawei has provided a generous 4000mAh battery. This with a frugal nature of EMUI 9.0 based on Android Pie you can expect a good battery life from the smartphone. The Y9 Prime comes with a USB-C Type connector for charging and also has the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 will be released in two colors: Sapphire Blue and Emerald Green.
